Fabriq brings tools for industrial shopfloors to identify, communicate and resolve day to day issues faster.
They’ve been waiting to add a final product to their solutions that would store every solutions used to make them available when a similar issue would appear, either in the same location or in a different shopfloor using the same machines and processes.
The founders where uncertain of the business potentiel and wanted to validate quickly if that product line had any benefits, and set a timeframe of 3 months.

Fabriq’s founder had in mind the end game for the new product : close the loop of shopfloor problem solving by having a solution database ready to propose pertinent solutions based on past experiences.
But we were starting from zero and competitors were ahead, and even more problematic, they were present within Fabriq’s clients toolkit.
How to find the right angle to make this and advantage, and fit in our timeframe ?

We conducted survey and field studies to have a better understand of what the reality, pros and cons of solutions gathering by revolving around these questions :

We found enough to reframe the issue :
First, we don’t want to start by making our clients transfer their current documents to our solutions. As it’s on paper and on multiples templates, it’s extremely time consuming & competitors were already trying that, spending months for this task alone, for very little added value on the short term.
Second, a recurring issue for line manager were to show during the audits to prove that everyone on the team was up to date with the documentation. This issue was troublesome for them as their personal eval was linked to the audit review, and to this day the solution to show a good track record was either non existent or very hard to maintain.
We found enough to reframe the issue :
